The Unistrengh Cotton Canvas Bell Tent is a 4-season glamping tent that comes in four different sizes. It is a portable, windproof, and waterproof tent with a stove jack for use during the colder months.
Comfort and Space
The smallest size Unistrengh Canvas Bell Tent L x W x H is 118″ x 118″ x 98.4″ / 300 x 300 x 250 cm and has a floor width and floor lengths of 3 m / 9.84 ft. It can easily fit 2 camping beds or 4 sleeping bags and still have plenty of room to keep your equipment or gear.
The total floor area is 76.01 square feet, and the peak height of this tent is 2.5 m / 8.2 ft, meaning you can easily stand and move around within the tent.
The vertical walls are 0.6 m / 2 ft and the A-frame door is 1.5 m / 5 ft, which means you may have to slightly stoop to enter the door but not too much to the point of discomfort. A few pros to owning a canvas bell tent are that they are much more spacious than other tents such as tipi tents.
They are also much more durable due to the high-quality fabric used to create these tents. They can be put up for short periods or long periods, without the fear of it being swept away by the wind or ripping under the rain.
One particular reviewer on Amazon lived in this tent in Florida for a year and a half and gave it a five-star review! Other than the fabric being stained after a year and a half, the tent held up and stayed dry even after a flood hit the area in which he was living.
This tent is still standing after a year and a half in the tropical climate of Florida, with all its storms and wind!
In addition, the ropes held up after a few storms, but they were starting to wear out in harsh weather conditions. This tent is well worth the money and will last you for years, even in inclement weather and rough use.
This canvas bell tent consists of one large living space instead of separate rooms. It has no vestibule or porch nor is it a blackout tent.
Breathability and Ventilation
This canvas bell tent consists of 4 side windows, all protected by a high-quality mesh screen to help to keep the inside of the tent well-ventilated and insect-free. The screen porch also allows cross ventilation, and the roof fabric is 100% breathable cotton canvas.
As many reviewers have mentioned, the detachable groundsheet is PVC and waterproof and will keep the interior dry even in a flood.
There are 4 top mesh-covered screen vents to provide extra ventilation. The sidewalls can be rolled up to expose the scenery around the tent, keeping the canopy above your head. This allows a breeze to openly flow into the tent, which is very useful during summer camping.
It has been reviewed that this tent has stood up to 45+ mph gusts of wind without blowing over or ripping. The rain cap provided keeps the rainwater from entering the tent.
Becoming extremely waterproof after going through the first rain, this tent stays put in any type of harsh weather conditions. It is treated with UV repellent and water repellent and also has reinforced double-stitched seams to provide extra durability.
The detachable PVC groundsheet also plays an active role in increasing the tent’s longevity, as it does not allow water to enter the tent and keeps the inside dry.
Floods, windstorms, and even snowstorms, this tent has been through it all and still kept intact and stayed dry inside!
The zippers are double-sided and double-handle SBS zippers, which may not be as durable as YKK zippers but will do the job if you wish to use your tent for short periods and in normal weather conditions.
The floor is a PVC waterproof groundsheet that is detachable with zippers along the sides. The PVS groundsheet is double layered on the center pole bottom to ensure that the floor will not rip because of the pressure from the center pole.
The tent body is a 100% breathable cotton canvas, 300 g per sqm, with reinforced double-stitched seams. It is UV-treated and water-repellant. The sidewall has a PU coating and is also waterproof.
The center pole and A-frame door poles are galvanized steel tubes with anti-rust treatment. For the smallest size tent, the length of the center steel pole is 2.5m /8.2 ft, the diameter is 3.8 cm / 1.5″ and the center rod wall thickness is 1.2 mm / 0.12 cm / 0.04″.
The A-frame door galvanized steel pole has a diameter of 19 mm / 0.74″ / 1.9 cm with 1.2 mm / 0.04″ / 0.12 cm thickness and is copper-zinc coated. This is some serious hardware, and these poles have been known to keep the tent sturdy through all kinds of winds and torrential rains.
Ease of Use
The smallest tent doesn’t require two people to set up but you might need to get help for the larger tents simply due to the weight. Like all bell tents, once you get the center pole in and propped up, you can easily tie down the guylines and stake the tent down.
It will take one person about 30 minutes to set this tent up.
Packed Size and Weight
The packed size of the tent L x W x H is 44.09″ x 10.24″ x 10.24″ / 112 cm x 26 cm x 26 cm and the weight of the tent is 20 kg / 44.1 lbs.
The next size up is 26 kg / 57.3 lbs while the largest size of the Unistrengh Canvas Bell Tent weighs a whopping 46 kg / 101.4 lbs.
